About Us

In 2000, Clyde Harvey Sr. had a idea to Create a”Shooting Academy” and teach one of his Most “Well Kept secrets” in Basketball today, and one that made him a “College All American and Hall Of Fame Player”. It would be Called the Harvey’s “Shooters Touch” Academy and without Him ever dreaming it, the academy  would expand its operations from Kansas City, Missouri, all the way to Orlando, Florida and across the Globe. “My Brother, Who trained Me, and Studied my shot. Took that information and taught it to players in South Africa, China, Japan, Korea, Australia, Europe and has even trained some of the Top NBA, WNBA, and NCAA Players around the league. “Clyde revealed to a reporter during a telephone interview in Tampa, Florida, Home to their operations, scheduled to open in May 2008,”We have plans to open a new HSTA in the Independence, Missouri area this summer,’ Clyde will be President of basketball Operations”

Clydes ability to play the game of basketball is well- documented. He has competed with some of the worlds greatest Athletes. His love for the game in obvious, but what he is showcasing Now is his generosity to help kids. To understand the generosity of this man, One needs to study how much he has “Quietly” given back to the Kansas City Missouri Community.

Clyde Harvey was  a High school “All Star Player” at Paseo High school in Kansas City, Missouri and could have attended almost any Divisions 1 college in America, but he chose to follow the footsteps of his older brother Marvin and Marcus and stay home to play for Fred Pohlman and attend Penn valley Community College. In two years he led the in almost every offensive Statistical Category Listed. His second year, He led the nation in Scoring with a “33.5” Points a game. He was a  Junior College All-American and became a “Hall Of Fame” player for Penn valley.

After Graduating from Penn valley, He was recruited by one of the best recruiters in the Nation.Ken Cochran at the university of Marymount In Salina, Kansas . It was there that Clyde learned the Love of basketball  as Cochran taught him much more than offense and shooters touch. There it was  all about defense and team work. His admiration for Cochran’s style of coaching stuck with Him and it became obvious as he played  Behind-the –Scene-Roles for the Penn valley Men’s and Women’s basketball Programs.

The game of basketball, more than ever before, needs “ Veteran Players” like Clyde Harvey who is extremely concerned about the people who are in charge of teaching Kids the correct fundementals of the game because, with in the fundementals of the game are “Life’s” Lessons. “ First of all. Athletes are tougher, better and  smarter today because of advancements and progressions in sports nutrition, strength training and sports psychology”.  Clyde related in a conversation with Gary hailes, Partner at 810 Sports radio.

We have to make off-season opportunities available for young athletes to “Stop, Look and listen in order to change bad-habits of the game, and bad habits in Life”. We need more specific programs for high school athletes like the HSTA. They need to learn more than  just Basketball, like the process of learning in live , the Journey through  the process, what success is, and how it is obtained and then teach them about the “Game.

“Athletes need to attend ‘Real” fundamental Clinics, Skill Camps, not just the “Play To Play” programs. I am not against playing, it will make them better in some things, but it doesn’t teach the athletes the Fundamentals, and how to develop good habits. “ In Most cases they are learning how to Win”. We ned extremely productive programs that entail teaching Life, then teach basketball as a opportunity. That is why I became a part of the National Academy for the teaching of  Basketball Years ago”
